32nd Annual Local Legends Gala

Dinner features keynote speaker Lucy Bradley-Springer, former panel member of the Presidential Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS, and inspiring stories from Local Legends honorees. A benefit for Boulder County AIDS Project, the event raises funds to improve the lives of people living with or affected by HIV in Boulder, Broomfield, Gilpin and Clear Creek counties. Bring kids and well-socialized dogs to celebrate the Halloween season with the Humane Society of Boulder Valley. Enjoy an evening filled with free festivities for humans and dogs alike, including children’s crafts, paw-print art, digging up “bones,” a pet costume contest, dog bobbing for hot dogs and more. Lighting the Giving Tree

Watch the traditional lighting of the Giving Tree with complimentary cider, hot chocolate, holiday treats, carolers and holiday music. A benefit for Boulder County Housing & Human Services, the tree lighting features gift-card donations so people can help needy families have holiday gifts for their children. Lighting starts at 5 p.m. in the Hotel Boulderado lobby, 2115 13th St. in Boulder. The Giving Tree is up through December, but all donations must be made by mid-December. Colorado Gives Day

This annual statewide movement celebrates and increases philanthropy in Colorado through online giving. The event is one of the largest giving-day incentive funds in the country, and you can browse a website with more than 2,000 Colorado nonprofits to find a cause you’d like to help. The 24 hours of giving starts at midnight on Dec. 5. Donate online at www.coloradogives.org, or make an advance donation starting Nov. 1.
